Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen missiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.
